The Hope Street Theatre

A regular kid from South Carolina has a rather unusual Father. Well, unusual anywhere outside the borders of the southern United States. The Father is a radical televangelist with a saviour complex and an insatiable thirst for money. The child lives in his shadow, constantly being harassed for not being masculine enough. When a new Stepmother comes into the child’s life her innate femininity awakens the woman within them. Everything has always been straight forward, God was almighty and a penis meant you were a man. Now questions and complications of the highest order threaten to  overturn her relationship to her body and soul.
